A key difference between the North American and Australian post-secondary education systems concerns professional degrees (e.g., medicine, law, pharmacy, physiotherapy). The Australian university system offers many professional qualification programs at the undergraduate level. This means that students straight from high school can enrol in programs to be become doctors, lawyers, pharmacists, physiotherapists, etc. This differs from the North American professional program structure, in which students generally complete an undergraduate degree before starting a professional degree.
